Incoming Links for your sites are becoming more and more important to your general Search Engine Strategy. The reason is pretty justifiable. With more companies starting to add SEO strategies to their company marketing strategy chances are that with more marketers adding content to their pages, and more marketers finding relative content from other websites, search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing have to find multiple ways to determine how “relevant” your website is. One of the best ways for search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing to determine the best website content is by looking at how many other sites and people think your site is important. Leading us to the importance of incoming links.

Accepting that foundation gives us an easy, reasonable way to get the links we need as online marketers. We become attractive to other marketers by creating unique and interesting content.

There is basically no way to match the outcome good writing will have – in due course – on your SEO efforts. A well-built article that gives the answer to a common question, or sheds some light on an interesting situation, is likely to be linked to dozens or even hundreds of times. Since each one makes your website seem more popular to the search engines, it doesn’t take too long before you’ll crawl your way up to the top of the listings.

But if writing and posting quality articles is the good way to build links, then it’s just as important to point out what doesn’t work.

All over the web, there are hundreds of “online marketing firms” that will promise you thousands of incoming links for pennies apiece. If this sounds a little too good to be true, then you’re on the right path. What these companies are doing is building websites that exist for the sole purpose of linking to one another – in other words, no one will ever actually see any of them, much less click the links.

More importantly, the search engines aren’t fooled, either. What matters to your positioning isn’t just the number of links you have, but also the quality. In other words, you don’t gain anything from having thousands of incoming “junk” links.

Search engine optimization is really all about helping people find what they’re looking for. Remember that, and build your incoming links through quality content. It might take a little bit longer or cost a bit more, but it’s actually the easiest way to bring buyers to your site.

Tension is rising in the midst of two giants trying to compete against each other over new Mobile Advertising. At the same time the Government wants to get involved to prove its relevancy.

Google looking to acquire AdMob for $700 Million as a new mobile advertising platform and Apple is in the process of developing iAd their new mobile advertising platform along with their recent acquisition of Quattro Wireless for $275 Million.

And this is where the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) gets involved. “The move comes as Google, which generated 97 percent of its $23.7 billion in 2009 revenue from advertising, faces a growing list of investigations in the United States and Europe on issues of competitiveness.” The FTC feels that Google has become way too large of a player in the advertising industry. With so much money to invest and such a strong hold on the search engine market there is little room for any competitors to compete with them.

And then there is Apple. This is not the first time Apple and Google have combined forces in order to make more money and keep the barriers of entry high in a market. Google is actually encouraging Apple to get into the market so they can prove that they have a competitor with a brand as recognizable as their own. The FTC is not buying it.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal reported that the FTC has assembled an internal litigation team to prepare for a possible effort to challenge Google’s AdMob deal and that it had briefed Congress about its concerns about the deal.

We all know that this will eventually pass and Google will carry on being the new world super power with the ability to do as they please. The interesting thing will be how Apple responds considering they will be competing with Google the world’s largest advertising network on their own device the iPhone the world’s top selling smart phone.
